| Thallus epiphyllous, rather inconspicuous, small and scattered to confluent and forming rather large colonies, continuous, very thin, pale to medium greyish green, smooth, matt; prothallus not apparent. Algae Phycopeltis; cells elongate-ellipsoidal to ±oblong, not forming radiating plates. Perithecia superficial, but almost completely overgrown by a pale grey-brown to pale yellowish brown thalline rim; complete structure applanate to shallowly truncate-conical, 0.3–0.82 mm diam.; apex shallowly to deeply concave, 0.1–0.25 mm diam., dark brown to black, dull to glossy; ostiole sunken or in a minute papilla; thalline rim not containing crystals, subtended and attached to the substratum by a loose hyphal reticulum. Involucrellum extending almost to exciple base level, 30–50 µm thick near the apex, 20–30 µm near the base, brown-black. Exciple 12–20 µm thick, brownish black. Asci cylindrical, cylindroclavate or narrowly obclavate, 55–70 × 9–12 µm. Ascospores oblong or fusiform, 3-septate, 17–25 × 3.5–4.5 µm; perispore not apparent. Pycnidia numerous, resembling miniature perithecia, 50–100 µm diam. Conidia fusiform, 1.5–3 × 0.5–1 µm. |  |

| An endemic species in south-eastern Qld and eastern N.S.W. from the Qld border to south of Sydney; grows on the leaves of shrubs and trees in lowland and montane rainforest. | ||
