| Thallus epilithic, continuous to faintly and sparingly rimose, medium brownish grey, matt, smooth, 20–50 µm thick, ecorticate; prothallus not apparent. Algae Trentepohlia; cells 6–16 × 6–12 µm. Perithecia one-third immersed to superficial, hemispherical to subglobose, (0.17–) 0.22 (–0.28) mm diam., dull black; apex rounded; ostiole inconspicuous. Involucrellum contiguous with the exciple, extending to exciple base level or incurved beneath, 20–35 µm thick, not enclosing algae, K–. Exciple 15–20 µm thick, brown-black. Centrum 0.15–0.24 mm wide. Asci elongate-cylindrical to narrowly obclavate, 95–115 × 12–15 µm. Ascospores broadly fusiform to elongate-fusiform, 7 (or 8)-septate, 18–30 × 4.5–6.5 µm; perispore not apparent. Pycnidia not seen. |  |
