| Thallus epiphyllous, small and scattered or confluent and forming rather large colonies, continuous, medium greyish green, smooth, matt; prothallus thin, whitish. Algae Phycopeltis; cells rectangular, forming radiating plates. Perithecia superficial, subglobose to globose, attenuated at the base, 0.2–0.26 mm diam., medium orange-brown, smooth to finely and sparsely pilose, matt; apex rounded or plane; ostiole inconspicuous. Involucrellum contiguous with the exciple, sometimes incurved beneath, 30–40 µm thick, not containing algae or crystals, but with a thin thalline covering near the base. Exciple c. 20 µm thick, pale yellow-brown. Asci narrowly obclavate to elongate-cylindrical, 65–78 × 10–12 µm. Ascospores oblong to narrowly fusiform, 7-septate, 25–33 × 3–5 µm; perispore thin or not apparent. Pycnidia not seen. |  |

| Occurs in north-eastern Qld; grows on the leaves of rainforest trees and shrubs. Most common in the Neotropics, but also in West Africa, India and SE Asia. | ||
