Thallus epiphloeodal, continuous to rimose, pale grey-green to medium brownish grey, matt, minutely uneven, 20–60 µm thick, ecorticate; prothallus not apparent. Algae Trentepohlia; cells 7–19 × 7–16 µm. Perithecia one-third immersed to superficial, hemispherical to subglobose, 0.22–0.39 mm diam., black; apex rounded; ostiole inconspicuous. Involucrellum dimidiate to subentire, 35–70 µm thick, brownish black in thin section, not enclosing algae, K–. Exciple 15–25 µm thick, hyaline to pale brown. Centrum 0.19–0.25 mm wide. Asci elongate-cylindrical to bacilliform, 74–113 × 7–9 µm. Ascospores elongate-cylindrical to elongate-fusiform, 7–9-septate, 28–57 × 2.5–5.5 µm; perispore not apparent. Pycnidia not seen. | ||
Known from shrubs and trees in south-eastern Qld and south-western Vic. (nineteenth century collections only), on islands in Bass Strait and in northern Tas. Also in New Zealand. | ||
