Thallus to 5–10 cm wide, adnate, smooth, with a silky lustre, grey to yellowish grey or greenish grey, with or without paler slightly raised areas, to 0.3 mm thick; isidia and globose granules absent. Prothallus sparse to distinct, whitish. Photobiont cells solitary or a few cells aggregated, 5–17 × 5–10 μm. Medulla distinct, white or sometimes yellow-tinged near asci. Ascigerous areas common, comprising white patches with yellowish spots. Asci weakly aggregated, fragile, 6–8-spored, but often lacking spores. Ascospores ellipsoidal, sometimes less curved on one side, 63–106 × 30–63 μm. Pycnidia very common, scattered, solitary or 2 or 3 aggregated, immersed to elevated, black. Conidia bacilliform, 3–4 × c. 1 μm. CHEMISTRY: Thallus K–, C–, KC–, P+ yellow, UV–; containing psoromic acid (major), ±confluentic acid (major). |

This endemic species grows on bark in coastal and montane rainforest in eastern Qld and north-eastern N.S.W. | ||
