Thallus 5–15 mm wide, ±dispersed, formed by rounded irregularly confluent patches, smooth, white to whitish grey or greenish white. Prothallus indistinct. Photobiont cells rectangular, forming continuous radiating plates, 10–13 × 4–5 μm. Apothecia adnate, rounded, 0.4–1.0 mm wide, plane to slightly convex; disc dark brownish grey, often appearing white due to the dense pruina; surface and margin soft. Epihymenium c. 5 μm thick, pale brown. Hymenium 20–50 μm thick, colourless. Paraphyses branched and anastomosing, very loose between asci, c. 1 μm thick. Asci ovoid to globose, 6–8-spored, 60–80 × 45–65 μm. Ascospores slightly clavate, 9–13-septate, macrocephalic, with distinct constrictions at the septa, 52–74 × 8–15 μm. Pycnidia common, rounded to slightly irregular, plane, 0.2–0.4 mm wide, black. Conidia filiform, 20–30-septate, 70–150 × c. 1.5 μm. Known from leaves in montane rainforest in north-eastern Qld; also in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. | ||
