| Thallus off-white to pale grey, thin, smooth, dull. Ascomata black, conspicuous, numerous, scattered, straight or curved, rarely branched, sessile, with a thin evanescent thalline margin, 0.7–3.0 mm long, 0.15–0.25 (–0.30) mm wide; lips initially closed, later opening. Proper exciple completely carbonised. Epihymenium black, epruinose. Hymenium 75–100 µm thick, inspersed. Ascospores 8 per ascus, transversely (5–) 6–8-locular, 20–30 (–34) × 6–8 µm, I+ blue. CHEMISTRY: Norstictic acid. |
