| Thallus pale greyish white, thick, smooth, dull. Ascomata numerous, conspicuous, white, becoming black where abraded, straight, curved or sinuous, sometimes branched, sessile, with a conspicuous thalline margin, (1–) 2–7 mm long, 0.25–0.50 mm wide. Proper exciple thick, completely carbonised, slightly sulcate, concealed by the thalline margin. Hymenium 200–225 µm thick, not inspersed. Ascospores 6–8 per ascus, muriform in the terminal locules only, 16–20 (–22) × 2–3-locular, (72–) 85–105 × (11–) 13–16 µm, I+ blue. CHEMISTRY: Norstictic acid. |
