  Thallus pale greyish white, thin, smooth, dull. Ascomata black, conspicuous, scattered, sessile, with a conspicuous thalline margin, straight, curved or sinuous, rarely branched,
0.5–2.0 (–3.0) mm long, 0.25–0.40 mm wide; lips usually remaining closed, sometimes opening slightly. Proper exciple completely carbonised. Hymenium 150–200 µm thick, not inspersed. Ascospores 8 per ascus, irregularly biseriate, transversely (15–) 16–18 (–20)-locular, (55–) 65–80 (–120) × 10–12 µm, I+ blue.
CHEMISTRY: Norstictic acid.
     
  Corticolous in north-eastern Qld; also Costa Rica, Dominica, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Solomon Islands.
