| Thallus pale fawn to pale olive-green, thin, smooth, glossy. Ascomata conspicuous, scattered, rarely clustered, sessile, open, black, with a conspicuous thalline margin, straight, curved or sinuous, rarely branched, 1–4 (–5) mm long, 0.3–0.5 mm wide. Proper exciple completely carbonised, concealed by the thalline margin. Hymenium 125–150 µm thick. Ascospores irregularly biseriate, cylindrical with rounded ends, 7–8 (–10)-locular, 25–40 × (8–) 9–12 µm. CHEMISTRY: Hypostictic acid (major), conhypoprotocetraric acid (trace), hyposalazinic acid (trace). |
