Thallus pale greenish white, thin, smooth, glossy. Ascomata conspicuous, black, scattered or occasionally in substellate clusters, open, straight, curved or sinuous, rarely branched, sessile, with a well-defined thin white thalline margin, 1–4 mm long, 0.3–0.5 mm wide. Disc matt black, epruinose or faintly white-pruinose. Proper exciple inconspicuous, laterally thin, black at the base. Hymenium (100–) 125–150 µm thick, inspersed. Ascospores 8 per ascus, oblong-ellipsoidal, pale brown, transversely (5–) 6–8 (–9)-locular, (19–) 22–37 × (6–) 8–10 µm. CHEMISTRY: Stictic acid (major), hypostictic acid (minor or trace). |

Corticolous in eastern Qld and N.S.W.; also in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Fiji and the Hawaiian Islands. | ||
