Thallus epiphyllous, supracuticular, to 12 mm wide, 15–25 µm thick, pale grey to glaucous grey, smooth, continuous, glossy; photobiont Trentepohlia(?); prothallus not apparent. Perithecia almost superficial, angular above, constricted at the base, 0.20–0.25 mm diam., black. Perithecial apex with a ring of 4–6 black ovoid ±amorphous masses in a stellate arrangement, these surrounding the ostiole. Exciple hyaline. Centrum c. 0.15 mm diam. Paraphyses simple. Asci clavate, 90–120 × 20–25 µm. Ascospores (2–) 4 per ascus, fusiform, hyaline, muriform, 20–30 × 1–3-celled, 95–115 × 9–14 µm. Conidiomata semi-immersed, aggregated in circular 0.5–0.7 mm wide groups of 5–8; individual conidiomata dark brown, c. 0.05 mm diam. Conidia 3-septate, narrowly fusiform, straight, 18–23 × 3–4 µm. Rare on the leaves of trees in rainforest in north-eastern Qld; also in Indonesia (Java) and Fiji. | ||
