Thallus pale brownish green to pale olive-green, thick, rimose, smooth, dull. Ascomata dark reddish brown, immersed, numerous, scattered or in irregular clusters, straight, curved or sinuous, sometimes branched, 0.5–1.0 (–2.0) mm long, c. 0.2 mm wide; lips closed or becoming open, with a thin white thalline margin that, occasionally, becomes more conspicuous. Disc reddish brown, epruinose. Proper exciple apically brown. Hymenium
70–80 µm thick, I–. Ascospores irregularly uniseriate, ellipsoidal, submuriform, 4 (–6) ×
1–2-locular, 9–14 (–16) × 5–7 µm. CHEMISTRY: Protocetraric acid. |
