Thallus epiphyllous, subcuticular, rounded to irregular, 5–15 (–20) mm wide, the margin even or with short rounded or irregular lobes, c. 20–40 (–50) µm thick, bright green, without a bluish tint, ±smooth to slightly rugose, dull or glossy; photobiont Cephaleuros; prothallus not apparent. Perithecia almost superficial, ±hemispherical, 0.5–1.0 (–1.2) mm diam., dark green, covered almost to the apex by a thin layer of thallus. Perithecial apex rounded; ostiole inconspicuous or in a shallow depression. Involucrellum black, extending to exciple base level, 40–60 (–100) µm thick. Exciple hyaline to pale brown, 10–20 µm thick. Centrum depressed-ovate, 0.3–0.6 mm diam. Paraphyses simple. Asci narrowly cylindrical, 80–130 × 6–12 µm. Ascospores uniseriate in the ascus, fusiform, 1-septate, constricted at the septum, 13–25 × 3–5 (–6) µm; cells not separating. Conidiomata 1) verrucose, hemispherical, dull black above, 0.08–0.16 mm diam., containing short-cylindrical 1-septate macroconidia 10–17 × 3.0–4.5 µm, or 2) convex, black, 0.05–0.08 mm diam., containing fusiform simple microconidia 3–5 × 1.5–2.0 µm. | ||
Occurs on the leaves of trees and shrubs in rainforest in south-eastern Qld and south-eastern N.S.W.; mainly pantropical. | ||
