| Thallus epiphyllous, subcuticular, 5–20 (–30) mm wide, 20–50 µm thick, rounded to irregular, with an even margin or with elongate separate or confluent lobes that are plane to convex and usually have a distinctly broader occasionally flabellate apex, off-white to pale grey to greenish grey, ±smooth to rugose, glossy, sometimes minutely papillate; photobiont Cephaleuros; prothallus not apparent. Perithecia convex to hemispherical, 0.25–0.60 (–0.80) mm diam., ±concolorous with the thallus or pale to dark brownish at the apex, covered by the thallus almost to the apex. Perithecial apex ±rounded, occasionally with radial fissures; ostiole inconspicuous or in a shallow depression. Involucrellum apical or not apparent, 15–30 µm thick. Exciple hyaline, 10–20 µm thick. Centrum depressed-ovate to ±applanate, 0.25–0.55 mm diam. Paraphyses mostly simple, a few branched or anastomosing. Asci cylindrical, 70–110 × 7–10 µm. Ascospores overlapping-uniseriate or oblique in the ascus, fusiform, 1-septate, constricted at the septum, 10–22 × (3–) 4–6 µm; cells not separating. Conidiomata convex to hemispherical, immersed, 0.08–0.15 mm diam., concolorous with the thallus but with a brownish punctate apex, containing 1-septate short-cylindrical macroconidia 8–12 × 2–3 µm, or simple fusiform microconidia 3–4 × 1.0–1.5 µm. | ||
