| Thallus epiphyllous, supracuticular, 5–20 (–30) mm wide, 10–20 µm thick, pale to medium green, medium greyish green or brownish grey, occasionally with a metallic sheen, continuous; photobiont Phycopeltis; prothallus not apparent. Perithecia superficial, prominent, hemispherical to subconical, 0.20–0.35 mm diam., not markedly spreading at the base, medium green to brownish grey, covered by the thallus almost to the ostiole. Perithecial apex ±rounded. Involucrellum black, carbonaceous, extending to exciple base level, 15–30 µm thick. Exciple hyaline to brown, 7–15 µm thick. Centrum 0.12–0.24 mm diam. Paraphyses simple. Asci elongate-cylindrical, 25–40 × 4–6 µm. Ascospores 1-septate, narrowly ellipsoidal to ±fusiform, uniseriate or irregularly biseriate in the ascus, constricted at the septum, 8–15 × 2.0–3.5 µm; cells not separating. Conidiomata semi-immersed, verrucose, overgrown by the thallus, 0.10–0.15 mm diam., containing 1-septate bacilliform macroconidia 9–12 × 2.0–2.5 µm; microconidia not seen. | ||
