| Thallus epiphyllous, supracuticular, rounded to irregular, 5–20 mm wide, 8–12 µm thick, pale grey, smooth; photobiont Phycopeltis; prothallus not apparent. Perithecia superficial, prominent, usually covered by a thin layer of thallus almost to the ostiole, hemispherical to ±conical, but with a conspicuously spreading base, 0.4–0.6 (–0.8) mm diam., greyish black to black. Perithecial apex rounded to ±subacute. Involucrellum black, carbonaceous, extending to exciple base level, 25–35 µm thick. Exciple hyaline to brown, 8–12 µm thick. Centrum 0.20–0.35 mm diam. Paraphyses simple. Asci elongate-cylindrical, 30–40 × 4–6 µm. Ascospores 1-septate, fusiform-ellipsoidal, uniseriate to irregularly biseriate in the ascus, slightly constricted at the septum, 8–12 × 2.0–3.5 µm; cells not separating. Conidiomata: 1) superficial, ±conical, grey-black, with a slightly spreading base, 0.1–0.2 mm diam., containing 1-septate bacilliform macroconidia 10–15 × 1.5–2.5 µm; 2) superficial, black, with a slightly spreading base, 0.07–0.15 mm diam., containing simple narrowly ellipsoidal microconidia 3–4 × 1.0–1.5 µm. | ||
