| Thallus thin, filmy, effuse, green; thalline warts absent; algal cells adjacent to the ascomata 6–10 (–12) µm diam. Ascomata solitary, semi-immersed to ±superficial, outwardly hemispherical, subglobose, subconical or half barrel-shaped, (0.22–) 0.27 (–0.36) mm diam., pale greenish yellow, epruinose or patchily pale yellow-pruinose on the upper half; apex plane to convex, 0.05–0.13 mm diam.; ostiole scarcely visible, but its position indicated by the extrusion of translucent hymenial material. Ascomatal wall 45–70 µm thick at the apex, 25–35 µm thick at the base, hyaline to yellowish brown. Periphyses growing from below the ostiole and from the side walls of the ascoma, curved downwards, unbranched, 25–40 (–50) × 1.0–1.5 µm. Paraphyses long, unbranched, 1.0 (–1.5) µm thick. Hymenium lax, separating in water and K, K/I+ yellow-brown. Mature asci not seen; immature asci elongate-cylindrical, predominantly thin-walled (K/I+ pale blue), with a distinct apical plug (K/I+ blue); contents K/I+ reddish. Ascospores globose, 3–4 µm diam. | Occurs on soil on a roadside bank in wet-eucalypt forest in southern Tas. Reported for the first time from Australia; also in continental Europe, the British Isles and Greenland. | ||
