  Thallus endophloeodal, to c. 100 µm thick, pale greyish green, dull, uneven, continuous to verruculose, strongly rimose. True cortex and pseudocortex absent. Algal layer well developed, continuous; calcium oxalate crystals absent to very sparse but large. Vegetative propagules not seen. Ascomata conspicuous, to 0.3 mm diam., ±rounded to slightly irregular, apothecioid, solitary, immersed. Disc often partly visible from above, pale flesh-coloured to orange, epruinose. Pores to c. 0.25 mm diam., ±rounded, occasionally slightly irregular, the upper part of the proper exciple visible from above, free, entire to rarely slightly split, ±whitish, incurved to erect. Thalline rim margin thick, ±rounded to slightly irregular, entire to somewhat eroded, concolorous with the thallus, occasionally concentrically fissured; thalline rim indistinctly incurved to erect, inconspicuous. Proper exciple apically free, thin, hyaline to pale yellowish internally, pale orange marginally, non-amyloid. Hymenium to c. 100 µm thick, not inspersed, conglutinated; paraphyses straight to slightly bent and interwoven, unbranched, the tips slightly thickened; lateral paraphyses inconspicuous, to c. 15 µm long; columellar structures absent. Epihymenium hyaline, without granules and crystals. Asci 8-spored; tholus initially thick, becoming thin. Ascospores submuriform to muriform, oblong to ellipsoidal or somewhat clavate, with ±rounded to narrowly rounded ends, hyaline, non-amyloid or becoming faintly amyloid, 20–27 × 8–10 µm, with 7–9 × 1–4 locules; locules mostly ±rounded, subglobose to oblong; transverse septa thick, regular, ascospore wall thick, non-halonate; endospore thick. Pycnidia not seen.
CHEMISTRY: Thallus K+ yellowish to brown, C–, P+ orange; containing constictic acid (major), stictic acid (major), hypostictic acid (minor).
     
  Known only from the type locality in south-eastern Qld; on resinous bark.
