Mackinlaya macrosciadia
(Family ARALIACEAE)

Collected by Brown at Shoalwater Bay, Queensland August 26 1802.

The generic name Mackinlaya commemorates the explorer John McKinlay (1819-72) for his explorations in tropical Australia. The specific name macro (large) sciadia (umbrella) refers to the large umbrella like inflorescences of tin cream flowers of this slender rainforest tree.
