Free Gardens Bird Watching Walk
Start your participation in the Family Picnic Day with the Free Gardens Bird Watching Walk @ 10am Join our experienced guides and search out some of the amazing birdlife in the Gardens. Bring your binoculars and camera (some binoculars will be provided) Meet at the Visitor Centre

Family Picnic Day program
The program will include displays, guided walks, presentations, kids activities and performances including:
- Blamey Street Big Band with Leisa Keen
- Canberra Mandolin Orchestra
- Sing Australia Choir
- Canberra Scottish Dancers
- GOLD Dance Group
Discover the variety of lively, stimulating and essential support groups that operate within the Gardens and Canberra and learn how they offer opportunities to explore new skills, experiences and knowledge.
First 200 seniors to give the ‘over fifty flash’ (production of a drivers licence or seniors card) will receive a complementary gift bag
Bring your own picnic or purchase a delicious bush BBQ burger (including beef, chicken or veggie options) available all day from the cafe deck with special discount price for seniors.
