The Gardens host activites and events to suit all tastes, from our celebrated Summer Sounds concerts, to new and innovative workshops and exhibitions. And lots of outdoor fun for children and families.

Lace work exhibition

An exhibition of original lace works by Jenny Rees and Vicky Taylor, and inspired by Jenny’s experience of the 2003 Canberra bushfires, which destroyed her home.

The New National Rock Garden
Botanical talk

Find out about the features for a new national rock garden planned for 6 hectares of land adjoining the Lindsay Prior Arboretum at the Western end of Lake Burley Griffin from Brad Pillans, President of the Geological Society of Australia.

Art in the Gardens with Friends
Botanical art exhibition

Featuring an exquisite selection of botanical paintings, drawings and prints of native Australian plants from the Gardens. This is the fourth annual exhibition of art works presented by the Friends of the Gardens botanical art groups.

in the Glass House

A diverse display of exotic and native orchids, carnivorous and tropical plants. Hundreds of plants are on display to tell the story of the bizarre life of plants.
